Imagine — your tax-deductible donation will help to…
- Spread this message that we believe is vision-preserving, via presentations, professional symposia, scientific papers, books, internet, podcasts, articles for other sites, and more.
- Fund further research, which we believe will further support Dr. Knobbe’s hypothesis. This, in turn, will reach more eyecare providers who will ultimately share this message with their patients, thereby preventing more vision loss and blindness from AMD.
- Ultimately, your gift could help save the vision of your own parents, brothers, sisters — even your own children and grandchildren.
The team at Cure AMD Foundation and Dr. Knobbe have a singular goal — to prevent what we believe is needless irreversible vision loss and blindness, from AMD. Dr. Knobbe’s hypothesis and supportive research, thus far, has already virtually proven to many fellow physicians and ophthalmologists, that processed food consumption is the cause of AMD. But still, relatively few are even aware of this landmark research and scientific paper.
It has always been Dr. Knobbe’s goal to provide as much information as possible — even the books — for free, to everyone that needs or wants one. However, we can’t quite meet these goals, without your help. We need charitable contributions.
Cure AMD Foundation is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) charitable organization. We have no source of revenue, other than charitable contributions (see link below for verification*). Use of our content is free. Videos of Dr. Knobbe’s presentations – costly to produce – are free. Books are sold for the cost of printing. Ebooks are sold for the price of a credit card transaction. We’re trying to reach as many people as possible, providing the information, for free.
Think about it. We have no product to sell. No supplements. No drugs. No “magic bullet” formula.
Not even a book, for profit. Why?
The answer is simple: There’s only one formula that we believe will prevent – and help to manage – AMD.
And that formula is a healthy, ancestral diet.**
That’s right – good old-fashioned food. The food of our ancestors.
But, just like Wikipedia or the Make-A-Wish-Foundation, we need donations to continue reaching out and to broaden our scope. We need funding to reach our goals. And our over-arching goal is to reach millions of people with this message.
In addition, our goals are to fund (further) research for Dr. Knobbe and colleagues to follow in the footsteps of Weston A. Price, who conducted an epic volume of anthropologic nutrition research on five continents, in the 1930s. Price’s research firmly established the connection between Westernized diets, that is, man-made, processed food consumption, and diseases of civilization (think heart disease, cancers, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, weight gain, autoimmune disorders, etc.).
It is Dr. Knobbe’s goal to conduct similar studies following the philosophy and revolutionary example set by Weston A. Price. In a nutshell, that goal is to compare AMD prevalence in some of the few populations around the world who are still consuming native, traditional diets, and contrast that with genetically similar populations who have Westernized their diets, wherever that may be possible. Such opportunities may still exist with populations such as the Maasai, Rendille, Samburu, and Hadza tribes of Africa, the Tarahumara Indians of Mexico, South Pacific Islanders, the Tsimane of South America, Peruvian Indians, certain Mongolian populations, and a few more.
Publication of such research – plus presentations at ophthalmology and optometry meetings worldwide, additional scientific papers, etc., would be expected ultimately to prevent (and treat) AMD in tens of millions of people.
This, we believe, is an altruistic goal, with the end-result being vision preservation. But — we need your help — your commitment, to reach this goal.
Your gift could ultimately help to save vision for millions of people,
including your own siblings and your own children.
Has Dr. Knobbe’s hypothesis and he and his colleagues’ research already prevented further vision loss for you? Already made you healthier? If so, will you give back in return?
If everyone viewing this website gave just $3.00 U.S. Dollars — the price of a Starbucks cup of coffee — once a month for three years, we would be able to fund this research for the next three years.
We believe in one simple truth. If we give — freely give — to help you, to make you healthier, to help save your vision, to help your family — some of you will give back and help us to help more people in need, if you are able. And if you are not able to contribute in a monetary way, we more than understand. We’re still here for you – and we mean it. And we thank you for your consideration.
